#Streaming #CTV #OTT continues to rise while Cable & Satellite sink

vMVPDs (virtual cable companies) added 900,000 subscribers Q3 2022.

Q3 2022 was the 3rd best quarterly net adds ever.

According to the Leichtman Research Group (LRG).

Hulu + Live TV added 400,000 Q3

Sling added 214,000 Q3

FuboTV added 284,265 Q3

Cable & Satellite accelerated losses in Q3. Sinking like the Titanic (considered to be the greatest ship ever made when it was sent on its maiden voyage in 1912).

Top cable providers had a net loss of about 980,000 video subscribers. I have seen articles that indicate some cable companies are giving up on video to focus on broadband.

The cable losses included:

562,000 at Comcast

204,000 at Charter

90,000 at Cox.

Satellite losses

400,000 at DirecTV

184,000 at Dish TV

96,000 at Verizon Fios

To those still clinging to the past, you can rearrange the chairs on the Titanic or try bailing ship. Me, I have just opted for a newer, better, vessel
