In Q1 2023 Comcast reported losing 614,000.
Charter / Spectrum also incurred severe TV customer losses. In Q1 2023 Charter / Spectrum lost 241,000 compared 112,000 in Q1 2022.
Combined Comcast & Charter / Spectrum lost 2.6 million TV customers in 2022.

1 or 2 year ago Cable company losses were blamed on Covid. People staying home during Covid ignited a spark in the growth of CTV | Streaming growth 2020-2022 some experts said. The last 6 to 12 month should be enough evidence to prove that was not true. Cord cutting has accelerated. There has been a seismic shift in media consumption. Viewers are overwhelmingly turning to #CTV | #Streaming.
There is more trouble ahead.
Cable companies have shifted focus from TV to high-speed and mobile services. It looks like cable companies grasp on High-Speed internet is also slipping. Mobile service providers have jumped into that game as well. In the first 3 months of 2023, T-Mobile added 523,000 home internet customers. That is more than AT&T Comcast Charter and Verizon combined.
I can't speak for everyone but what I will say is customer service is not a part-time thing period it's an all the time thing. The cable company had many opportunities not to lose my business but they chose otherwise. Now they spend hundreds of dollars a year pursuing my business with direct mail and other advertising they send to me. To me my cable company is extinct, not going back.
