No limits, no limits, no limits. It’s more than a mantra; it’s a mindset.
I repeat it relentlessly at challenging times—during deadline dashes, days that I set out to make a certain number of client calls, bike rides & swimming laps...Tasks of the mind, endurance or strength they are all the same. It’s not lip service; it’s a belief system that fuels my drive, it can propel your drive also.
We’re often our own worst enemies, erecting invisible barriers that hold us back. The moment doubt creeps in, we begin to lose. I've always gravitated towards challenges that seem insurmountable—from tiling my outdoor kitchen backsplash (I had never tiled before and decided to start on a vertical surface) to launching my own business, ConnectADtv. The leap from Local to General Sales Manager was a prime example. Someone even congratulated me on reaching my "highest level of incompetence" Though was said jokingly, for the first few months it proved to be true,
Those first three months were a trial by fire. It honestly surprised me I was certain I was ready. I don't know if it was the tasks of the job, trying to prove to my team and the person who promoted me that I was up for it, filling the person's shoes that had the position before me (which were big shoes), the responsibility of making mistakes. It was most likely a combination of all the above. I just kept saying no limits.
Here is the secret: most people aren’t ready for their next big thing. It’s not about experience; it’s about mindset. By refusing to accept limitations, I’ve shattered ceilings and defied expectations.
Are you ready to break free from your self-imposed constraints?
