Same Name, Game, Face, Age (almost)- who is who?

I was drinking a cup of hot Joe and watching the Morning News when suddenly I had an epiphany, which Joe was I looking at. I had to turn the volume up to make sure I understood what the dialogue was before I was able to make my decision. Joe and Joe, an absolute doppelganger.

After I realized what I was looking at I certainly thought other people had to see the same thing. I did a quick Google search and the page was populated, many people had already made this link between the two Joes.

Joe Theismann 72 and Joe Manchin 74, not only look like, they played the same sport. I think the same position (quarterback) and were raised about 150 miles apart- Manchin in West Virginia and Theismann in New Jersey.

It's funny how things hide in plain sight but once recognize them you will never forget them.

There's a lesson in here that needs to be applied to business and I admit it took me a day (Sunday) to figure it out.

As I was watching the NFL games I saw the commercial below several times. I really liked it because the music track, from Etta James, was fantastic. The first several times I saw the commercial I did know what or who this commercial was for. Just like seeing Joe Manchin multiple times before I realized he had a true doppelganger. The advertiser was hiding in plain sight. The 5th time I saw the AD, it clicked and stuck, I now know and look for the Walmart AD..

The business lesson is simple, Frequency is required and is needed in our over messaged world. The average person is exposed to 4,000-10,000 Ads daily. Tighter targeting would have also helped with this message.
